north of the border

I managed to take a couple of photos while visiting Sydney. Holly Rankin, is the front (wo)man of Desire the Horse - an impressive and earthy ensemble from NSW.
These photos were taken with a 1970's Canon FTb SLR which was passed to me by my brother. I am absolutely delighted with the images from this camera and cannot wait to use it more.

holy ground

I grew up in Sunbury, Victoria; home to the great Sunbury Rock Festival of the late 60's to early 70's.

Heralded as Australia's equivalent to Woodstock, how I wish I was there.

The top photo was taken at the 1972 festival (http://www.milesago.com/) where the acts included; Max Merritt and the Meteors, Tamam Shud, Chain, and of course Billy Thorpe and the Aztecs.

My fathers friend runs sheep, cattle and makes wine on a property adjacent to the historical site. I spent one afternoon wandering around trying ever so hard to hear Max Merritt's gravelly vocals or Billy Thorpe's rock and roll made scream on the summer breeze.

bay side

Having lived right on Port Phillip Bay for the last 2 and a bit years, I've spent many an evening on my bike or skateboard exploring the extensive riding paths. It's a beautiful way to farewell the sun at the end of the working day.

One of the things I enjoy the most about it is the other people you come across. I love how they are living their individual lives and, like me, choose to spend their evening freeing their mind of unwanted and unnecessary irrelevance.

New Zealand is more than just sheep and mountains. There are also rivers.
Beautiful place, great people, classic accents and shyte loads of snow.

uncle taylor acts his age

Sweet Uncle Taylor celebrated his birthday in style. Tequila, beers, wine, hot spa......and sleeping on the couch.

could be a lifetime ago

My great friend Rob and I lived in a crazy old shack in St Kilda, Melbourne. We called it home for around 2 years.

The house is definitely on its last legs, though may the memories last forever.

The Wolf from RoebeeH Productions on Vimeo.

A friend of mine is doing some great things in the music sphere.
I have been fortunate enough to hear several tracks, all of which blew my mind.
The making of this clip was a unique and fun day.

I encourage you to look further into this crafty ensenble.

simons not stoked

Not unlike most of us, my good friend Simon enjoys browsing blogs to help pass the weekday hours between 9AM and 5PM.

The internet at home has been on the blink as my housemates extracurricular activities tend to consume large quantities of the meagre download limit.

I would like to extend an apology to Simon in light of my recent inability to help him waste time.

It's estimated that the City of Melbourne council spent $700,000 in 07/08, on the removal of graffiti.

My solution - pay the handsom individual who blessed us with the above goodness, $700K per year so they can keep our chuckles hearty.

Looking forward to further installments, Mr Mystery Prophet.

Last Thursday I told my employer I am not sticking around for act 2. It was one of the easiest conversations I have ever had. This represents a major swing in my needs and desires.

Removing the corporate, grey building dwelling, meeting holding, heads up giving, margin protecting and GP worshipping from my life until otherwise advised.

Wish me luck

up, up and away

I'm doing it. I'm getting this blog off the ground once and for all.
