acting my age

Been in bed this week ill.

Last week was classic though. Spent a day on the beach hanging out with a lovely Swedish couple and danced with local kids. Was hilarious.

(Note. All parents were present)
(Note 2. Some people's actions have made this world so fucked up I am obligated to mention this)

going, going, gone

My good friend, Jade Preston, is offering her long locks to be shaven off to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Jade can be seen in the above photo. Please, if you have some money spare, do help this cause.

The shaving ceremony will take place at The Golden Plains music festival on the 12th March.

Should you wish to contribute, click this link.

Great going Jadey Lady!

fully sick

I've been really ill for a couple of days. Starting to feel human again now though.

Here are some pictures I took on a little outing to the market in Nha Trang. I rode a pushbike there, it was ace fun. I love being involved in the orderly chaos!!

bubbles over beers

This is my first attempt at video editing. It's a bit rough, but still I had a blast making it.

I will polish my skills over time, and I just really wanted to get this finished and out there so I can commence on a new project.

Thank you to Shauny and Chook for helping me with getting my head around the world of the moving image, oh and Gary & Linda for being such wonderful subjects!

I hope you smile lots, I did.

back to school

I've started teaching English in Vietnam. It's hilarious!

My student's are incredibly energetic and fun. I'm not sure if I'm a good or a bad teacher allowing them to breakdance in class, its too funny not to enjoy though.

nha trang

I've moved onto Nha Trang where I will be based for the next few months, teaching English at the Bishop's House Seminarian School.

Nha Trang is vastly different to Ho Chi Minh City, as it is less busy, cleaner and has a general relaxed vibe. Fortunately, its also on the coast. I'm grinning from ear-to-ear.

barman brains

Me: "I'm sorry, but do you have any cold beer? This one is warm."
Barman: "Yes of course, just wait a moment."

Barman returns with a bucket full of ice and half a dozen beers.

Customer Service: TICK.

i've arrived

I landed in Vietnam last night, absolutely exhausted. Though my spirits were lifted immediately by the lovely people I am staying with for the next few days.

Today I spent the morning on the back of a scooter racing around Ho Chi Minh City checking out the sights, sounds and of course smells. It was a blast. (The traffic lights here have count-downs on them for when the lights will change, so effin smart if you ask me).

Didn't understand a single word said at lunch, not too worry, I was far too busy tucking into freshly made spring rolls, noodles, chinese sausage, pho and fruit. My hosts did apologise following the meal, not for the conversation, but for the fact that after lunch we must nap for 2 hours.

So without fear of jumping the gun, I feel its only necessary to announce, I'M HOME!

it pissed down

The crew and I headed to St Kilda for an art exhibition featuring the work of friends Shaun Freeman, Ryan Heywood, Luke Taaffe and Adrian Knott.

It was a rippa evening, though the rain did limit the amount of free beer we could consume as the gallery flooded.

limelight

huh?

At the risk of opening up a can of worms about my choice of music, I will share this little treat from YouTube.

"This song reminds me of when I spied on this couple having sex it was the best"

Who the hell writes this stuff?

smile, why not?

I'm getting ready to head off to Vietnam for 3 months on Tuesday. Me and some lads had a few last minute beers in the lair, for it seemed like a rippa excuse.
