korduroy tv

It's been a whirlwind year. It's been a whirlwind couple of years. Moving, grooving, learning and living, and everything in between.

I was blown away when Korduroy TV asked if they could feature some of my photographs. You could not imagine a bigger smile on my face, nor a burst of raw energy and excitement.

This combined with being invited to do Graphic Design work experience all week this week, in the t-shirt design team at Quiksilver, has made for a wildly exciting couple of weeks.

Should you have the desire, take a look at the feature article.

old mowers and new growth

Last night I went and sat in a neighbours paddock, which had caught fire with in the last week. He had been cutting the grass on his old and rickety mower, when it sparked a fire. The mower is no more, and the land has some rejuvenating to do. All that is left in the paddock is the mower carcass, a bathtub which was used to feed livestock, some dry burnt tree's and playful galah's feeding off the seeds the charred tree's have dropped.

There are already signs of new growth, and it won't be long before this parcel of land is green and lush again. The thought of this made me smile, as I went home to shower and wash off the black layer of dust I had accumulated. Note to self, wear shoes next time.

New Years Eve celebrations are full of little challenges.

weekday walks

A midweek morning stroll around one of Victoria's most famous tourist attractions. I met 2 brothers from Canada with some pretty crazy ink on their backs. I asked them if they had any affiliation with the group of fella's from Australia who proudly wear the same branding, they responded, "No, but we were told not to take our shirts off in Sydney". In fact, they had no idea who I was actually talking about, the only knowledge they had was that they were from Sydney, after their recent experience. After a little further discussion, the Canadian brothers informed me that the phrase comes from the bible, the story of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Learn something today.... tick.

There were some nice little clean waves too.

rake summer 2012 / 2013

I spent some time with the lads at Rake Surfboards & Clothing late last year. Andy Warhurst is doing great things with the resin tints, and in the water. Aido Knott, owner/shaper/fashion designer for Rake, is always stepping it up, and I can't wait to see what this year holds for the brand.
