turquoise

After surfing in the hot Noosa sun, we would seek refuge in fruit shops and supermarkets. Mango's were cheap and they were basically giving pineapple and rockmelon away. Good planning the night before saw us freezing almost a dozen water bottles in the freezer, with each one eventually succumbing to the heat and meeting it's fate as a life saver.

tasman

Went down to Tassie the other week to see a good friend and his family.

Fortunately the points were working, which is a rare occurrence as they only break a handful of times a year. Chook and Ron had a great time out in the water, while I broke bread with the locals.

High tide will see you play chicken with the rocks, Chook eventually crossed that road. (Pun intended)

Thanks to Ronnie, Noumsy, Rudy and Poppy for the warm southern hospitality.

Geezus I can light a good fire. Manhood.

slab-fest

This week has seen enormous slabs of icy water propelled at the land with great force rendering many breaks un-surfable.

I am a little excited about warmer weather to tell the truth.

big wednesday?

More photos from yesterdays swell. Was a magical day to be on the Surfcoast.

The swell backed off a little in the evening, but so did the wind which made for epic surfing conditions. There is a real buzz around here at the moment.

bells today

The Victorian Surfcoast has been on fire this morning. Here is a little taste test, more to follow.

bells

Bells Beach this morning. A million surfers in the water, maybe two. Busy times call for a walk on the beach and a couple of snaps.
When the sets came they were solid, its been a great couple of weeks of waves.

....as long as you believe

I surfed Pt. Impossible for the first time this morning. I had such a great time out in the water, and got some of the funnest and most rewarding waves of my surfing life. This is officially my new favourite spot.
I took a couple of photos before hitting the water, including this inspiring noseride from an unknown friend.
Winter is a great time to be alive.

open road

I've walked the walk,
and sang the songs,
of the soul and the blues,
but if I must walk this road again,
can I borrow a pair of shoes?

feathered vanity

I took some photos one morning at Pt Roadknight, using my new Canon 5D mII. I'm really quite delighted with my investment.
PS. Before the tide got too full the surf was pretty good too!
